Reach Beyond Worldwide
Reach Beyond (formerly HCJB Global) works in partnership with Christians around the world to declare the hope found in Jesus Christ. Through media and healthcare ministries, we seek to be the Voice and Hands of Jesus. Together.
Voice – Radio & Media
On Christmas Day, 1931, radio station HCJB began broadcasts in the city of Quito, Ecuador. This local AM station grew into an international shortwave ministry: HCJB – The Voice of the Andes. While the shortwave site had to be closed due to the recent construction of Quito’s new airport, the shortwave ministry has continued in Kununurra, far north Western Australia broadcasting to the Asia Pacific region. The local FM radio station HCJB continues to touch lives in Ecuador on and throughout Latin America as a national radio network, international satellite network, internet ministry and program distributor.
Meanwhile, God has opened new doors to partner with churches and Christian ministries all around the world, planting hundreds of local radio stations that minister to their communities, and providing solar-powered receivers where even owning a radio is a luxury.
Hands – Healthcare & Community Development
In 1950, the mission’s first medical outreach began as an Indigenous Medical Clinic, ministering to the Quichua people of Ecuador as they passed by the radio station travelling to and from Quito.
Today, working with partners, we seek to minister through:
- Community healthcare and mobile clinics
- Clean water projects
- Clinical training and internships
Together – Partnership
We believe the most powerful model for ministry is working with local believers who speak the language, understand the culture, deal with local problems and offer relevant solutions.
Reaching the Unreached
As a mission, we are committed to reach beyond our comfort zones to those who have never heard about Jesus or have limited access to the gospel. To find out more about opportunities to serve with Reach Beyond, click here or call our office on 1300 653 853.
